Razia is an Human Rights Lawyer at the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Here she talks about her journey and how it has shaped and been shaped by her faith, identity and hopes for the future.
Throughout her career Razia has fought to defend the rights of many vulnerable people, including the victims of domestic violence and prisoners who have persistently protested their innocence. Now she is putting this experience to vital use in a wider context by influencing government policy and ensuring that it adheres to human rights principles.
Her family history has played a huge role in Razia's life and her commitment to human rights. She is committed to carrying on this work, but above all hopes to be the best teacher to her daughter that she can possibly be.
