Meet Bushra, Najia and Nazmin, the creators of GemPower - a new programme for young women in Islington.

 

Having just finished their studies, Bushra, Najia and Nazmin are energetic, fun and insightful women who are already making a huge positive impact the world around them.

 

Inspired by their mentor Noori Bibi at Young Muslim Voices, these three women endeavoured to create engaging events and programs where young women can engage and speak comfortably about issues facing them and have fun. GemPower sprung out of the success of their first open evening and has garnered considerable local interest. Covering issues from body image to money management to self defence, the sessions are well rounded and aim to be applicable to all young women.
